The OpenStage M3 DECT handsets are a family of handsets designed for harsh environments where they may be exposed to moisture, dirt, impact, dust or high ambient noise. With their IP65 housing protection rating, these handsets are well suited to such environments. In addition, the OpenStage M3 Ex Plus handset is suitable for potentially explosive atmospheres and offers extended emergency call functionality.

Ex certification:

• Gas: Suitable for potentially explosive gas areas in Zone 1 --> Ex approval for gas: II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb
• Dust: Suitable for potentially explosive dust areas in Zone 21 --> Ex approval for dust: II 2D Ex tb IIIC T120°C Db
• Headset connection: Bluetooth only (2.5 mm socket sealed) --> The handset complies with ATEX Directive 94/9/EC

 
Basic emergency call functionality (available on all OpenStage M3 models):

• Emergency call button with optionally different behaviour for long and short presses of the emergency call button
• Monitoring of the emergency call function via an LED on the front of the handset
• Up to 3 preconfigured emergency call numbers
• Automatic call when an alarm is generated
• Acoustic signalling (emergency signal) at the alarm location
• Automatic signalling if the handset is out of range/switched off or the battery level is low
• Configurable keypad lock (including/excluding emergency call button)
• Configuration of the emergency call functionality on the handset protected by a service PIN
• Localisation of handsets in the event of an emergency call possible (only on HiPath Cordless Enterprise) using the HiPath Positioning System

Extended emergency call functionality:

• Full scope of basic emergency call functionality
• Automatic alarms (no-movement, tilt, time, escape, technical and loss alarms)
• Configurable pre-alarms
• Advanced alarm scenarios with/without alarm server, e.g. OpenScape Alarm Response Server (OScAR)

• Testing on previous releases of the above systems has not been carried out. Use of the handset with earlier system versions is generally possible; however, functional limitations may occur.
